Eyewitness Sightings Pterosaurs in the United States Eyewitness sightings of a “pterodactyl” or a “flying dinosaur” True Stories From page 27 of the second edition of the  nonfiction book “Live Pterosaurs in America” we  read that the cryptozoologist Scott “had doubts  about the sightings, in July of 2007, when an  investigator talked him into helping them search.  (The location is secret, but known to be in the  United States.) . . . After he arrived at the search  area, he watched a video that investigators had  recently recorded: what they thought might be a  pterosaur at night. Scott thought it looked like a  bird.” Nevertheless, he stayed up to watch the sky. “Scott said, ‘[I was] very skeptical and didn’t think  we would see anything. . . I stayed up till 4:00 a.m.  Here’s the kicker, the skeptic, between 1:30-2:30  a.m., has a sighting! . . . I was sitting in a chair,  sideways towards the shed, looking up at the starry  skies, when this animal came gliding just over the  shed and into the field’ . . .”  The creature seen by Scott Norman, about 30 feet  away, had a head about four feet long and a head  appendage like that of a Pteranadon.   From the first chapter of “Live Pterosaurs in  America” (second edition): “Susan Wooten was  driving east on Highway 20 [South Carolina] . . . .  on a clear  mid-afternoon in the fall of about 1989  . . . where the road was surrounded by woods and  swamps, Wooten saw something flying from her  left, then passing in front of her . . . ‘It swooped  down over the highway and back up gracefully  over the pines . . . It looked as big as any car . . .  NO feathers, not like a huge crane or egret, but  like a humongous bat.’” “She pulled over, as did others who’d been driving  in the other direction, but she had no time to talk  with other eyewitnesses . . .” She later took the  time to contact the cryptozoologist Jonathan D.  Whitcomb, who interviewed her and found her to  be a credible eyewitness.   According to the third edition of the  nonfiction cryptozoology book,  “The flight destination may have  been this meadow near Campus  Drive.” The eyewitness described the  dark giant flying creature as “30 feet  long, with 15-16 feet of that being a  tail.” It flew low over a road, near  California State University at Irvine  (in Southern California). The giant  size, long tail, and obvious lack of  any feathers made it very like the  ropen of Papua New Guinea. This  isn’t the only sighting report of a  giant flying creature in California.  in the 48 contiguous state of America Copyright 2010, 2011 Jonathan David Whitcomb Swamp in South Carolina Courtesy of luthor522
